What the Hell?

I think the first movie I ever saw with her was Clueless. And I really liked her as an actress. Great spread of different roles. I think my favourites are Uptown Girls and Clueless still. But also liked her in 8 mile. She's done a tone of great stuff.
It's sad that she's gone.

"Oldie" but Goldie
One of my favourite tv series of all times is Young Americans. It aired in Sweden 2001 and at the time I was kind of love sick. I devoured everything lovey-dovey. My boyfriend at the time was in Kosovo as a UN-soldier (or what you might call it), and I missed him like crazy. The thing is, the obsession did not start at once. I began watching the first episode, but didn't find it that interesting. If I had just seen it all, the kiss on the roof top and that, I know I would be hooked! But now I didn't. It was not until I happened to see episode 4, Cinderbella, when it hit. I was completely and utterly addicted. Mainly to Jake and Hamilton. Awesome story.
So then I got into writing Fan Fiction, reading fan fiction, joining JaHammer groups, you name it, I did it. Yes, I am 14 at heart. :P I even met up with other Swedes with the same obsession!
Basically, it is about five youngsters, of which 4 is attending Rawley Academy for boys. Jacqueline Pratt aka Jake (Katherine Moennig), is there, dressed as a boy, trying to show her actress mother that she has no clue. Hamilton (Ian Somerhalder), the dean's son, falls for Jake, Will (Rodney Scott), townie boy, is there on a scholarship, Scout (MarkFamiglietti) is a senator’s son who falls for townie chick Bella (Kate Bosworth) who just might be his half sister. Intrigues, intrigues. I love it.
My favourite couple is Jake and Ham. They are just so cute together. Lots of teenage anxiety and issues. I like it. I have written one fanfic about Jake and Ham. It is not finished yet, but will be soon. If you are interested click here.

What is Wrong with Me?
Wait, don't answer that... ;) Well I'm pretty disturbed. I mean how else can I explain why I keep on looking at scary movies, reading about vampires and now the latest tv series I've been watching, Supernatural. I'm freakishly scared of the dark. I mean why do I put myself through that? I must be perverted or something...
Supernatural is about two brothers who are looking for their father that has gone missing from a "hunting"-trip. Their mother died some 20 years ago in a supernatural phenomenon. Now the brothers are left to search for their missing father while sorting out supernatural happenings all over the country. They deal with a few urban legends and so on. That should be a sign that I should not see this show. I meen Blody Mary's, hook men and demons is really not my cup of tea. Especially not when it's dark out. But here I am, hooked to another scary tv-series, unable to stop myself from watching. I really need to see someone... ;)
Oh, goodie, I have 4 more seasons to go! ;)

Legend of the Seeker

The Tv-series started airing last year and you can find it at sites as TV-duck for streaming. I do like the series, though they are mixing up the stories from the different books. Craig Horner is quite good as Richard Cypher, perhaps younger than I had imagined, but just as handsome. Bridget Regan is great as Khalan Amnell. And I so want them to be able to be together without having to worry about that her confessor power will do to him. But you will have to see for yourself. I'm not giving anything away.
I will re-read the books now that I'm finished with The Twilight Saga. If you haven't read the books or seen the show, do it! ;)

Ugh, the Torture

I sincerely hope that Stephenie Meyer finishes this project soon. I don't know how long I can withstand this torture of not knowing the end. Well, I know the end, but it is a totally different story when seeing it through Edward's eyes, but you also get to listen in to the thoughts of the people around him. If you thought Jessica was annoying before, wait till you hear what's going on inside her head...
If you haven't read it yet, the draft is found here. Just scroll down a bit and you will find it. :) Enjoy!

And so the Saga Came to an End
*SPOILER ALERT*
if you haven't read all four books in The Twilight Saga, stop reading here!
I've just finished reading Breaking Dawn. Or rather listening to it. I have found that audio books are clearly understated. So relaxing and a great way to experience literature. Of course the reader must be good too. And this one was. I enjoyed all four books this way.
And I must say the books just gets better and better. I did find the last one the best. Lots of action and love and stuff. I really loved it, didn't want it to end at all. And Bella finally got her Edward for all eternity. I think this last book was more mature. As I guess the readers grow older, Stephenie Meyer has thought of that. I guess I'm a bit too old for crushing on a 17 (give or take a hundred years) year old vampire, but Edward is just so great. Old fashion and just so awesomely gorgeous. Who wouldn't want to hang with him for the rest of eternity?
Renesmee was a great idea. I loved that Bella bore a child, it made the bond between her and Edward even stronger. As a mother I can relate to the unquestioning love for a child you haven't even met yet, even if it hurts you and makes you feel ill.
Apparently there were a plan of writing Twilight from Edward's perspective but due to illegal publication the project was put on hold. Tough the first draft is found on Stephenie's website. Read more about Midnight Sun here. I'm so going to! Especially read the first draft!

Wanna Know What's Going on in Darcy's Head?
Well, you can. I've begun blogging in Darcy's name too. Just as I have in Lizzie's. The only downside is that I do it in Swedish. But, if you send me some encouragement, I might be persuaded to make it into a regency fan fic...

Pattinson doesn't do it for me

I know that you probably think I'm weird that is not swooning about Robert Pattinson, everybody seems to love him. I swoon about Edward, Edwards in the book.Perhaps Pattinson will grow on me, but I'm still on the fence. You know, even my hubbie thinks I'm weird that I don't fancy Pattinson, since everybode else does... ;)(Ok, yeah so, he's kinda hot on that pic on the left... I'll give you that.)
And also I was annoyed with things that they had missed. I get that it's hard to make a movie out of a book. And I get that you can't fit everything in there. And, sure, it's not half bad, but still... Things that are so important in the book, is not even mentioned in the movie. Things that she doesn't do in the book, she does in the movie...
I'll probably go to see New Moon together with my friend though. Even if I'm already shocked about the trailer. Already in the trailer I can see thins that are wrong. But I'll do it for her. She's pregnant and all... :P

Flutters and Tingles

I am sitting here, all tingly and fluttery. Not because of Mr Darcy this time, or a vampire or any other fictional character. But because I've listened to HIM, the Finnish "love metal band" with singer Ville Valo. I just love his voice. And his not that bad to look at either.
At Valentines day 2008 (before I was a responsible adult, married and mother... :P), I was at their concert at Nalen here in Sweden. A friend of mine is friends with the drum roadie. How cool is that? :P Anyways, she wanted to go, but not alone and we got in for free. Great to be on the guestlist. I didn't mind, I mean I liked their music. Let's just say I fell in love, and leave it at that shall we?
Now, every time I hear any of their songs I get flutters in my stomach, a goofy smile on my face. Today I watch one of my fanvideos I have made with their song In Joy and Sorrow for Atonement, and my body is now a complete mess. I think I have a thing for "dangerous" men. I have always been attracted to men that uses eyeliner... Funny, right? Especially since I love Mr Darcy too. The heart works in mysterious ways...

Men in Cravat is the Shit
I really should make a new version of this video I made a while ago. I was trying out a editing program that, if you didn't pay for it, it puts in a ugly little text in the middle. Dang, it. Still very satisfied with the video. And all those lovely men in cravat... *swoons*

Twilight
I have always had a fascination for vampires. They are always very, very good looking, immortal and despite their cool skin, very hot. I don't really know when I started to be fascinated, or what brought it on, but suddenly I crave them. Everything about them. Could they be real? Is there vampires walking among us? Probably not, but it is a bewildering thought, nonetheless.
I know that people talked about Interview with a vampire quite early, well, I was 14 when it came. But I didn't see it till later. I don't know if it was my fear of the dark and unknown that kept me away from it for a while. It is a great movie which I haven't seen for a while actually, I believe it is time to see it soon. But I did enjoy Dracula before that.
Now the vampires are very popular again. Twilight, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries have seen to that. I really wasn't that impressed with Twilight the movie. It was too slow for my taste, sure there were vampires, but I really didn't see why everyone fell in love with Robert Pattinson as Edward. I really don't find Robert that attractive. After reading the book, however, I can see the fascination for Edward. The novel is so much better. So, I'm hooked. Am going to see New Moon as soon as possible. I already have a date too. :P Perhaps I will change my mind about Pattinson as Edward.
Maybe just the fact that he is portraying a vampire does the trick. ;) It is possible. But I do think the books is much better than the movie anyway. So much get lost in the adaptation. Very few adaptations can do the original justice, in my opinion.

A Great Honour!
I have been asked to write a blog of sorts for Elizabeth Bennet for a great forum! It's a great honour to be approached with such a request. Especially since the forum itself has nothing to do with litterature or Jane Austen what so ever, but blogs and blogdesign and other miscellaneous stuff. And for once I'm writing in Swedish. I haven't done that since high school! I prefer English, even if I'm from Sweden. It's easier to elaborate for some reason. If you're interested, check it out here:
One of my outlets for my obesessive and addicted behaviour has been to write fan fiction. For some reason, carachters from books or movies tend to just move into my head and ask to be written about. It's weird, mind you, but fun. It's not like I have to do anything, the stories kind of writes themselves, it's almost effortless. Unless I have a writers block. It has happened a lot lately. Hence the unupdated fics on fanfiction.net.
Anyways, if you are interested in my fan fics, you will find links to all three of them in the sidebar, under "my fan fics". Perhaps I can present you with some sneak peaks later on... :P

The Grand Infatuation

I read the book. To tell the truth, I hadn't before I saw the tv series. And, no, it was not just Colin Firth's dark handsome face that sent my blood racing. It was Mr Darcy. Though, Mr Firth's face was attached to my vision of Mr Darcy of course. He will always be my Mr Darcy no 1.

Of course, I could mention Becoming Jane in this discussion, but I won't. that is a different infatuation all together. I will pester you with that later. :P
Needless to say, I am a hopeless romantic, and I suspect that Miss Jane Austen has something to do with that. Or perhaps it was my mother's Barbara Cartland's and Harlequin's that lay in that big box in the closet that I use to borrow and devower in an instant. Perhaps not the best litterature choice for a young girl, but I was already lost... Maria Gripe had already seen to that (not sure if you have heard of her outside of Scandinavia but she's great). Apparently I favour perodic drama.

Welcome!
This will serve as an outlet for my more addictive side. I have many addictions. My family for starters, Jane Austen, vampires, men in cravat and many, many more. I will devote this blog to my addictions.
You'd think I'm like 14, right? I'm not. But I will tell you more about myself later. :P
Have a nice day!
