The Notebook

I have heard so much about The Notebook, and was really glad to stumble upon it on telly the other day. I had to see it. But I was gravely disappointed. I don't know why, I mean it's all there. A great love story, the regular difference in social status, the forbidden love and someone has to leave. I should like it. But I didn't. I didn't even cry, and I'm a big softy. Sure, a little teary-eyed in the end. Because, that was the best I think. Perhaps it was too predictable. There was nothing more to the story, nothing that really made it special. I thought it rather boring.

Not even Ryan Gosling or Rachel McAdams could make it come alive. The scenery was great though. I love the costumes and cars... But there it ended.

You may very well disagree with me. If you do, please leave a comment and tell me why it's supposed to be so great. Thanks! ;)

I May be a Trekkie Yet

I saw the new Star Trek movie the other day. Apparently you can rent movies via the Xbox these days. That's kind of cool. Quite cheap and in full HD. My first full HD experience. I have never been a big fan och Star Trek, only seen one movie before (First Contact and it was the first date with my ex). I have never really been a fan of out-of-this-world kind of movies. But I might just change my mind. Well, my hubbie has slowly, but surely changed my view of sci-fi and unworldly stuff. Like Star Wars and such.

Anyway, we watched the movie, and I actually liked it. I might just have to check out a few of the other movies and series that has been made. I have seen a couple of episodes here and there, but never in the right order. Even if I have some aversion toward the outfits... Luckily in the new movie they are a bit more up to date.

I must say that they have done an excellent job with the casting. Chris Pine could be William Shatner's son for sure, and Zachary Quinto is great as Spock. Of course, they are way hotter, at least in today's standards. Really great movie. See it, if you're into that kind of things...

What the Hell?

Brittany Murphy, 32, is dead. She was rushed to the hospital this morning, local time, with cardiac arrest. She was declared dead as they got to the hospital. She was only 32!!! What's with the world today? Why does everybody have to die so young? She was only three years older than I, for crying out loud.

I think the first movie I ever saw with her was Clueless. And I really liked her as an actress. Great spread of different roles. I think my favourites are Uptown Girls and Clueless still. But also liked her in 8 mile. She's done a tone of great stuff.

It's sad that she's gone.
