Tomorrow...

The waiting is finally over...

Season 6 Promo

On a different note I'm a bit hesitant as what to do with this blog. My dedication is a bit off at the moment. I'm currently writing in my usual, Swedish blog more frequently and also in English when I see fit, but I still think I need this outlet too. For the more obsessive stuff. Okay? Okay. I'm gonna try to be more active, make some wallpapers and what nots. Perhaps a fanvideo or two...

The Vampire Diaries s 3

Pic from cwtv
*Warning, there might be spoilers...*

So, last season, Stefan went "rouge" in order to save his brother. And Klaus has him bloodthirstier than ever. And I must say I'm actually liking this darker, more brooding Stefan than the goodie two shoes from previous seasons. I have always been partial to him over Damon even if I'm very fond of Ian Somerhalder. Damon has always been too bad for me.

I've recently started to read through the books by L.J Smith of which the tv-series is based on, hoping it would be as epic as Twilight or The Southern Vampire mysteries. You know that the books are so much better than the series. But so far I'm not that impressed. Perhaps if I had read it before I watched it, but I really do think the tv-series is better so far. I've just started book two, The Struggle, and I guess it's getting better. I knew from the start that it would be very different from the tv-series and I was able to see them as two separate things, and therefore enjoy it more, I think.

I'm just surprise just how much they have changed, I guess to get better tv. I mean Jeremy is 4 year old Margaret, Caroline and Elena aren't even friends, Elena is blonde and where has Meredith gone?

But, all and all, when considering the tv-series and the books as two totally different things, that might in some ways be similar, I think the books are pretty good. :) But I still like the tv-series better and am looking forward to see the rest of this season. Can't wait to see if Stefan will chose Elena again and be "good" or if Elena actually realises that Damon is quite the catch after all... :P

True Blood Season 3

**Spoiler alert! If you haven't seen the two first episodes of
season 3, read carefully!**

The wait is finally over, True Blood Season 3 is here! I'm so looking forward to this season. I really eager to see what themes and events they are pursuing this time. The two first eppies has been very good, though varying much from the book, but I'm learning not to compare too much. It only gets me upset. It's still a great show, and I so enjoyed the view of Alexander Skarsgård's naked behind in the first episode.

I'm looking forward to more flirting between Eric and Sookie, and later Alcide Herveaux. I think we all are in for a treat this season. :)

On a side note, the tenth book in the Southern Vampire Mysteries Dead in the Family was released on May 4 this year. I'm really looking forward to read it soon!

There's a New Doctor in Town...

Doctors 1-8
Or in space, rather. I've followed the new series of Doctor Who since they started in 2005. It's, I guess, one of the oldest tv- series out there. It originally aired between 1963 and 1989, but was taken up again by BBC in 2005. I have seen some of the old black and white eppies from those days, but I think I prefer the newer ones. We are now down to the 11th doctor.

The doctor is a Timelord and is travelling through space and time to, well, not really meddle, but help out. He usually travels with a companion or two. The most famous one, at least of the 2005 version, I think is Rose. She was with him for quite some time. He met her in the first season, as the 9th doctor.

The 9th Doctor is played by Christopher Eccelston. It was really my first encounter with the series and I really didn't know what to expect. But I liked what I saw. Looking back, I think he's the darker, moodier of the three I have followed. It must be hard to take a role that has been played by so many before you.

Then came he turned into the 10th Doctor, and David Tennant, and I fell truly in love with the series. I really enjoyed his quick humor and sort of geeky handsomeness. He's still funny and all, but there is something darker lurking beneath the smiling surface, which we also get to see later in the series. Being the last of one's kind cannot be easy, even if you are the Doctor. I kept on wanting him and Rose to get together for real, but it didn't happen and she ended up in another universe. Too sad really.

And now, here he is, the 11th Doctor, played by the youngish Matt Smith, well he's younger than me anyways. ;) And he's already got a good companion in Amy Pond, a fiery Scot. There's only been 3 episodes so far, but I think I like the new doctor. The concept is still the same. But I'm eager to see what will happen with Amy's wedding...

Dead Until Dark

I have just finished reading (well, listening to actually) the first novel in the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris, Dead Until Dark. As you may, or may not know, these are the novels that the popular Tv-series True Blood is based on. But I must say, the books are better. Even if we get to see everything through Sookie's eyes, and the fact that they have added  characters and events in the series. Of course I have the images of the cast in my head. Yes, I find Stephan Moyer's Bill Compton very attractive. And yes, I find fellow Swede Alexander Skarsgård very, very attractive as Eric Northman. Anna Paquin is great as Sookie. They have explored other characters in the series, even if the focus is on Sookie, we get to see more of for example, Sam and Jason in the Tv-series, which is good too.

The book is from a first person perspecitve and Sookie is the one we are following. I usually prefer it to be third person, because I would so like to know what everyone is thinking. I'm kind of nosy... :P I mean wouldn't you like to know what is going on inside of Bill's head? Or Eric's for that matter?

These books are a lot more juicy than say, Twilight, which is quite sweet in comparison (in the first two-three books anyway). They are more like Laurell K. Hamilton's series about Anita Blake. Rawer and much sexier. I like it. It has all the elements I like in a book; romance, vampires,  a little bit of violence, a whole lot of sex...

If you like the tv-series, read the books, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

"Oldie" but Goldie

One of my favourite tv series of all times is Young Americans. It aired in Sweden 2001 and at the time I was kind of love sick. I devoured everything lovey-dovey. My boyfriend at the time was in Kosovo as a UN-soldier (or what you might call it), and I missed him like crazy. The thing is, the obsession did not start at once. I began watching the first episode, but didn't find it that interesting. If I had just seen it all, the kiss on the roof top and that, I know I would be hooked! But now I didn't. It was not until I happened to see episode 4, Cinderbella, when it hit. I was completely and utterly addicted. Mainly to Jake and Hamilton. Awesome story.

So then I got into writing Fan Fiction, reading fan fiction, joining JaHammer groups, you name it, I did it. Yes, I am 14 at heart. :P I even met up with other Swedes with the same obsession!

Basically, it is about five youngsters, of which 4 is attending Rawley Academy for boys. Jacqueline Pratt aka Jake (Katherine Moennig), is there, dressed as a boy, trying to show her actress mother that she has no clue. Hamilton (Ian Somerhalder), the dean's son, falls for Jake, Will (Rodney Scott), townie boy, is there on a scholarship, Scout (MarkFamiglietti) is a senator’s son who falls for townie chick Bella (Kate Bosworth) who just might be his half sister. Intrigues, intrigues. I love it.

My favourite couple is Jake and Ham. They are just so cute together. Lots of teenage anxiety and issues. I like it. I have written one fanfic about Jake and Ham. It is not finished yet, but will be soon. If you are interested click here.

What is Wrong with Me?

Wait, don't answer that... ;) Well I'm pretty disturbed. I mean how else can I explain why I keep on looking at scary movies, reading about vampires and now the latest tv series I've been watching, Supernatural. I'm freakishly scared of the dark. I mean why do I put myself through that? I must be perverted or something...

Supernatural is about two brothers who are looking for their father that has gone missing from a "hunting"-trip. Their mother died some 20 years ago in a supernatural phenomenon. Now the brothers are left to search for their missing father while sorting out supernatural happenings all over the country. They deal with a few urban legends and so on. That should be a sign that I should not see this show. I meen Blody Mary's, hook men and demons is really not my cup of tea. Especially not when it's dark out. But here I am, hooked to another scary tv-series, unable to stop myself from watching. I really need to see someone... ;)

Oh, goodie, I have 4 more seasons to go! ;)
